Code of Ethics - Codigo de Ética Download IFBEC has been collaborating with our Brazilian counterparts from the Brazilian Association of Defense and Security Materials Industries (ABIMDE) to create a common document on general guidelines for business ethics in the aerospace and defense sector. Working with ABIMDE, this initiative has resulted in a 21-page document with a goal that it could apply to A&D industries throughout the Western Hemisphere. This document will guide aerospace and defense companies across ethical issues to promote awareness and compliance. The document is divided into three main topics: Ethical Principles of Global Business Conduct, Business Courtesies and Hospitality Model Guidelines, and a Supplier Code of Conduct. The Ethical Business Conduct section breaks down a zero tolerance to corruption, use of advisors, respect for proprietary information, and managing conflicts of interest. The next section, Business Courtesies and Hospitality Model Guidelines, discusses the 4R Rule: comply with the regulations, be reasonable, be responsible, and keep records. The last section of the document outlines the supplier code of conduct including the following: compliance with laws, anti-bribery and corruption, global trade compliance, ethics program, maintain accurate records, information protection, payment of taxes, timely payment of suppliers, management of risk, human rights, and the environment.
